In my head today

Not really anything in particular to blog about today. So I will just ramble. I am good at that, lol.

Going to Chicago next weekend for my nieces baptism. Can't wait to see everyone, and have some real Puerto Rican food. Will the Real Puerto Rican Food please stand up. Yeah, it was funnier in my head. I will miss everyone at Church. That is the only thing I don't like about going out of town on weekends, I have to miss church. I am going to need someone to call me on conference call so I can hear it.

We are renting a car when we drive to Chicago because of Gas prices. We have a Chevy Trailblazer, need I say more. I am going to need the most fuel efficient car they have. Lets pray I don't get there, and they give me a SUV like they have the past. Kind of defeats the purpose.

So how has Gas prices affected you. Are you driving less, changing vacation plans, shopping for more fuel efficient cars.

Ok, here goes my first when I was a kid scenario. When I was born gas prices were...$1.37
Back in 1980 - 81 gas prices rose above $1.00 for the first time. 1976 gas was $0.60 per gallon When I started driving gas was just over $1.00 a gallon.

Ok, there is my rambling this morning. Maybe I will come back and ramble some more later.

Weekend Highlights

Highlights from the weekend:
Saturday:

Woke up and headed to watch some friends run in the mini-marathon. Stacey, Chrisy, and Julie ran in there first mini-marathon. It was so cool to see them run there hearts out.

Threw a baby shower for Cyndi. Cyndi and I have been friends since I was 15. I meet her when I walked into Moby Dick to get my first job. 13 Years later Cyndi and James have been blessed with a child after 10 years of trying. God is good!

We had Softball practice. I was catcher for 2 innings. See Sunday details for more info on that. lol. I hit pretty good. I need to go to the batting cage, and I need some batting gloves. I did catch a pretty good ball thrown form outfield to home plate. :o)

Sunday:

My thighs were killing me from catching two innings at softball practice.

Sunday service was awesome. Very powerful. God showed up and Baptism was great! Awesome testimonies!

While we were sitting in service, Adam leaned over to me, and said "Happy Anniversary." I had totally forgot. So we went out to lunch for our anniversary. It was kind of funny. We have two anniversaries. One for when we started dating which was over 12 years ago. That one is on Jan 9th, and then our wedding anniversary is April 27th. We have been married 6 years. My oldest can do that math, and yes, we do have some 'splaining to do! Adam looked at me last night and said, "I can't believe I have been with the same girl for this long, and we have two kids, and two dogs!" Lol. I can honestly say, that I think our relationship has never been as good as it is right now. We have grown together, and have been threw a lot. We have always been there for each other. We have fun with each other, we can talk to each other, we sometimes fight with each other. But we have come to realize that somethings just aren't that big of a deal. We were talking a few weeks ago, and Adam looked at me, and said, "I really like the person you are now." That means so much to me. We know each other like no one else does. We see the sides of each other that we don't let others see. When we wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and when we are PMSing, lol. For him to say that to me, when he sees all my faults, it meant more than I can explain. We have both changed a lot, and have grown up a lot, and learned a lot from each other. We are both laid back with each other, we love to have fun with the boys. We do have our differences, but who doesn't. I am so blessed to have Adam. He is an amazing father, and husband. He knows the little things that mean so much to me. He is silly, and always puts a smile on my face when no one else can. I could go on and on, but I don't want to bore you.

I have to end on a funny note, and with my kids, it's not too hard.

On our way home from lunch, Alex looked at Little Adam and said, "How old was I when I met you?" That kid cracks me up. He was so serious.

I Am a "Kept" Woman.

You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,
but GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)

There were times when I thought I could go no longer,
but the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15)

At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong,
but the LORD kept my mouth shut. (Psa. 13)

Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough,
but GOD has helped me to keep the lights on, the water on, the car paid, the house paid, etc.., (Matt. 6:25 -34)

When I thought I would fall, HE kept me up.
When I thought I was weak, HE kept me strong! (I Pet. 5:7, Matt. 11:28-30)

I could go on and on and on, but I'm sure you hear me!
I'm blessed to be "kept."

Bring Your Child to Work Day

GE Womens Network sponsors a GE Bring your Child to Work day. For the event, we have to preregister, so only a handful of kinds can come. This is Adam's second year of joining me at work for this event.

The day starts off with us taking a trip to the Visitors Center so that we can get him a badge so that he can get threw the turnstile. It's tight security around here. I could see the excitement. This is the only day that he can actually come into the park and see what I do because of security measures. We got settled in at my desk, and then we went to get some coffee, he talked me into letting him get a little coffee. He was going to need it, because I was about to put him to work.

He was not allowed back in the lab, because of safety precautions. So he had to stay at my desk. So I let him put some data in for me. He did an awesome job.

At 11am, we walked down the the cafeteria to grab some lunch, and to hang out with some of my co-workers. He enjoyed himself.

At 1pm, we went over to Monogram Hall for some events. This is always a fun part for the kids, were they get to learn about Manufacturing, Engineering, and Lean Six Sigma, in a fun hands on approach. The parents got to participate, and Dad even joined us when we got off. The day wrapped up at 5pm, and I have to be honest. I loved having Adam with me at work. One of the things I dislike about my job, is that I miss my kids. Having him there, hanging out with me for the day was so much fun.

hmmm....

I went to the dentist the other day because of some pain I was having. I thought it was either a tooth ache or sinus infection. Well...I have to have two root canals. I had these two teeth worked on last fall, and they have kind of bothered my since, but they couldn't see any reason for it. So, fun fun, I go next Thursday for two root canals. They have me on some pain meds and I was online looking up info because it kind of made me out of it, this is what i found....may cause you to become drowsy or less alert; therefore, driving or operating dangerous machinery or participating in any hazardous activity that requires full mental alertness is not recommended. That would explain it.
